Verification Services - Public Sector (Hospitals, Universities, Government)
Whether to comply with legislation or to provide voluntary data for carbon footprinting or sustainability reporting purposes, local authorities and governmental bodies are increasingly making the move towards independent verification. CICS is the foremost verifier of hospitals and medical centres, with over 80 sites performed annually, and also university campuses, with over 30 sites verified.
Many public bodies now report their annual Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and have them verified by CICS as being true and correct. Having this data independently verified by a third party shows commitment to providing accurate and transparent data. This in turn gives stakeholders (the public, NGOs, shareholders) confidence that the organization is taking action not only to measure emissions but also to reduce and mitigate them.
Public sector organizations are notoriously diverse and their structure can be very complex. Many operate far-flung infrastructures involving many buildings, employees and vehicles in one or more locations. CICS verifiers have the skills and experience both to unravel these complexities and to identify organizational and operational boundaries. CICS has a wealth of experience in applying robust sampling methods where there are multiple GHG source streams.
CICS has developed methodologies to enable even the largest organizations to be verified in a pragmatic way, with minimum time spent on-site, reducing your time and effort.
