Carbon Emissions Consulting and Verification for Airlines

CICS offers you years of experience in carbon emissions. Whether you need to get your arms around carbon monitoring and reporting, or are ready for independent carbon verification, we have the skilled experts who will get you through the task efficiently and in a timely manner.

We offer the following verification services:

EU ETS

From January 1st 2010, under the EU ETS, aircraft operators who fly into the EU must monitor their CO2 emissions. This applies to many U.S. aircraft operators who will be required to report their carbon emissions to the relevant authority of the EU country assigned to them.  By 31st March 2011, these carbon emissions must be independently verified and reported, ahead of full trading beginning in 2012.

All emissions data under the EU ETS must be verified by independent bodies that are accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service). Please note that the Scheme will not accept verifications from non-accredited bodies. CICS earned one of the first accreditations from UKAS to provide EU ETS verification for aircraft operators. This accreditation is recognized by the following member states:

  • UK
  • Ireland
  • France
  • Spain
  • Portugal
  • The Netherlands
  • Malta
