Reminders for 2010 Verification

Below are some updates/reminders for EU ETS 2010 Verification:

ETS 5’s (Annual Improvements Form)

Category B installations (i.e. >50,000 tonnes CO2/year & <500,000 tonnes CO2/year) & Category C installations (i.e. >500,000 tonnes CO2/year) are required to submit an ETS5 to the regulator by the end of June 2011, justifying why top tier is not being achieved or describing how top tier can be achieved for agreement by the regulator. This is a requirement of your GHG Permit.

Please ensure that your completed ETS5 & the regulator’s response is available for your verifier for 2011, as these are documents that are required as part of the verification process.

ETS6’s (Verifier’s Recommended Improvement Form)

If your verifier identified areas for improvements, any non-conformances or misstatements in the Verifier Annex 1 of your Verification Opinion Statement, then you are required to submit an ETS6 to the regulator before the end of June 2011, detailing your responses and any actions required.

Agreement (or not) should be confirmed by the regulator in a formal response - this will have specified deadlines for the actions to be completed. Your verifier has to check & confirm if actions have been completed.

Please ensure that your completed ETS6 & the regulator’s response is available for your verifier for 2011, as these are documents that are required as part of the verification process.
