David is a Chemist by training and is a Chartered Chemist with the Royal Society of Chemistry. David is also a Chartered Environmentalist & Principal Auditor with IEMA and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Quality Institute.
For the past 13 years David has had considerable verification and assessment experience across a wide variety of industry sectors acting as an Environmental Specialist and Lead Greenhouse Gas Verifier. David is currently the Greenhouse Gas Scheme Manager for CICS and is responsible for the maintenance & development of greenhouse gas verification services as well as training & monitoring of verifiers.covering the regulated markets (EU ETS & UK ETS) as well as the voluntary markets such as WRI/GHG Protocol, PAS2050 & TCR (America). David is a Lead Verifier for EU ETS verification, Climate Change Agreement verification, PAS 2050 verification and for the Climate Registry verifications in America & has verified in excess of 300 million tonnes of Carbon Dioxide equivalent.
During the past 13 years David has also been involved in delivery of services for New Product Development & Training. David has written and delivered training courses for ISO 14001, EMAS, EMS Auditing & for Data Verification for Greenhouse Gas verifications.
Whilst at CICS David has successfully steered CICS to achieving accreditation to ISO 14065 with ANSI & UKAS, ISO 14064-3 with ANSI, PAS 2050 & the associated Code of Good Practice with UKAS as well as accreditation to deliver EU ETS Phase III Baseline verifications.
In addition, David sits on the WG3/7 Working Group for EU ETS verifications and is a member of The Climate Registry onto the Verification Advisory Group (established July 2009).
David is also a member of the Midlands Regional Steering group committee for the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
