Management Systems Training - Implementing a Health & Safety Management System for OHSAS 18001
This two-day course is designed for delegates seeking to either create, or improve upon, a Health & Safety Management System for their organisation.
The course is highly interactive and enables delegates to learn through discussion and practice. There are no power-point presentations!
Course Objectives
The objectives for the course comprise:
- Explore the background to BS OHSAS 18001:2007
- Examine the requirements of BS OHSAS 18001:2007
- Consider why an effective Health & Safety Management System is important
- Explore how to implement a Health & Safety Management System to meet the requirements of BS OHSAS 18001:2007
Course Delivery
In delivering the course objectives, some of the modules will include:
- A clause-by-clause analysis of BS OHSAS 18001:2007 including an exploration of some key items of legislation and their relationship to the clauses within the standard
- A study of actual elements of health & safety management systems
- Introducing a simple technique of ‘gap analysis' in the context of BS OHSAS 18001:2007
- Considering the ‘hurdles'/barriers in the way of establishing an effective Health & Safety Management System
- Identifying the important next stages in establishing an effective Health & Safety Management System
- Exploring the merits of integrated management systems.
Course Delivery and Content
The method of delivery is informal and interactive. A variety of exercises are established creating opportunities for questions and group discussion.
Furthermore, delegates are encouraged to bring along either planned, or existing, elements of their organisation's Health & Safety Management System for discussion and appraisal.
